Well, which right wing, conservative could possibly resist...this prepper's real estate bargain?

"...Property is located in a largely Republican county in rural NY State, just 15 minutes from Pennsylvania border..."

"...and a 45 minute drive to the traditional Latin Mass..."
Only 45 minutes drive to a traditional Latin Mass....I'm sold....how do I get US citizenship??? (unfortunately I don't own a global media empire like Rupert does.)

It's in New York State. You do NOT want to go there, the laws and taxes are beyond ridiculous, and favoring Republican buys you no way out.

It's only an acre of land or a little over 4000 sq meters. That's not prepper proper. And as Ghrit had eluded to .. It's Gun Nazi, Tax Nazi and a just plain Nazi Socialist state in general.

I'm not saying that Monkey living there haven't carved out their own Nazi Free zones, it's just that the rules there will kill you and rob you blind.

    I wasn't aware

I wasn't aware....that NY State had such an esteemed reputation....just as well that I am doing my due dilligence here first! If I'm going to all the trouble of becoming an American citizen, and owning some US real estate, I'd at least like the idea of owning at least a modest arsenal of pistols, revolvers, carbines, rifles, shotguns, machine guns, 20mm cannon and so forth....If all I can legally own is a nerf gun or a bb rifle...then I may as well just stay in Australia!

New York State is actually a great place. It's one of the most beautiful States I've seen (except for a couple areas). The problem is New York City. It's population is so big that it dominated the elections. Aside from that- most of the State is filled with Conservatives. So the smaller towns are great places to live.

You missed the Albany, Binghamton and Utica exceptions, didn't you? (Other than those, I think I agree, mostly.)

I live smack in the middle of NYS. YOU CANNOT purchase a pistol without BUYING a permit and essentially PURCHASING your right to own a pistol. You cannot claim to want to own one for self defense. You CANNOT have a magazine that holds more than 10 rounds. We pay the most in gas TAX.

I hate this ****ing state.. but I can't get out. I'll end up fighting my way out. Just don't shoot me as I come screaming across the border. It won't be my war cry.. it will be my freedom yell!

There are plenty of other Free States in the ol' US of A, at the moment. Florida is fairly good, and Class Three friendly. But when the S hits the fan big time, we in the northern part of the state will have all those refugee ZOMBIES coming up from the south and central parts.

If Manhattan and the rest of the boroughs and New Jersey slid into the ocean in an earth quake, New York State would be a wonderful place to live.

I always figured that it would be a 10 Megaton Nuke for NYC, and all the fallout would head over and wipe out Europe, and the eastern Commie States...
then what few folks did make it out of NYC wouldn't be much of an issue for the rest of the State. Same with most of NJ. The southern Parts would be fine, and the stuff up against NYC, would be toast. That Prep'er guy who lives in NYC, will be picking up his atoms, all over Europe, as will all his Preps.... Oh Well, It is all about "Choices".....

Sheesh....we Australians settle intercity and interstate rivalries with grudge football matches....to be followed afterwards with beers and BBQs....dropping nukes on each other's cities would be cutting our noses off to spite our faces. Worrying about which state has a Labor or Liberal government pales into insignificance, in comparison to beating the crap out of the New Zealanders at cricket or The All Blacks at Rugby. : O
