I found boxes of the large safety pins at the Dollar Store. I bought several boxes for my preparedness kit. I figured people will be losing weight and the pins will come in handy when there is no time to alter the clothes. I try to think of multiple ways I can use items I purchase. Here are a few I thought of, please tell me of other items I can craft from this item. Use for baby diaper pins Pin a whistle to your shoulder to alert someone Make a fishing hook??? Remove a splinter Pin to pants (inside) to hide keys Any more ideas from my Monkey friends?

+one on the sling. Plus I have one of the giant ones from the surplus store holding the top lid of my ruck on till i replace the original clip. Also great for broken pant buttons lancing blisters, clipping towels on the outside to dry, fishing hooks, and digging out splinters.
They were used in Vietnam by medics to pin the tongue of unconscious casualties to the casualty's chin or lower lip to prevent the tongue from obstructing the airway. (I'm not advising it) Medics today are taught to use them to close the skin over an abdominal evisceration to keep warmth and moisture in the abdomen. (I'm not advising this either)
