The United States is an oil exporter for the first time in 75 years.
So much for "we can't drill our way to energy independence", "drill baby drill won't work", "fracking doesn't work".
Where are all these nay sayers now?

They already tried and failed even with the Democrats super majority.
If it was going to pass that would have been the time to do it.
If they can't do it with a super majority how are they going to so it with out one?

They just keep bringing it back up, until it passes.... That is always the Liberal Play Book Plan....

Should be rewritten as "now that we know that Happy McPeaksters know nothing about resource economics, how about we worry about real topics of importance"?

Hiding under a rock? Again? There was a time during the late 90's, about a decade after the modern peak oil movement began, where they did the same thing. There were fewer of the Happy McPeaksters back then, but they hid out until early in the 21st century, hoping folks wouldn't notice their late 1980's calls for doom.

Yes, but it is the light stuff that you can't make diesel from and someday it will run out. We might wish then we had left some in the ground. MAGA!!! TRUMP 2020!!

It has been my experience that there are indeed places's.Gov will not allow drilling. In the Gulf and elsewhere in the US.
Pretty sure strategic reserves have been considered

When the oil begins to run out they will drill off the coasts of California, within sight of Miami and anywhere else there is enough oil to grease a doorknob.

    Gasoline shortages this summer.
Due to a shortage of oil? Refinery capacity? Selling it overseas?
Nien, a shortage of truck drivers after tanker drivers left the trucking industry in droves during the plandemic after being laid-off or furloughed.

Peak oil IMO is a concept dreamed up by the tree huggers, IMO there is still so much oil out there yet to be tapped. Any oil shortage will come from the likes of Bidumb and his asinine policies. Trump in less than 4 years under his policies had plenty of oil flowing and energy costs at a reasonable level to get our economy thriving and growing. When science perfects a fusion reactor at a competitive cost then you will see oil being replaced (years away).

But first, it must be found. The moratoriums in place on exploration will get in the way. Without discovering new sources, "peak oil" becomes more believable.

Even if we can come up with cold fusion we will still need oil for plastics and chemicals for a while.

Peak oil is an artificial concept fostered by the Bidum crowd we have yet to explore the Atlantic coast for oil.

"The U.S. holds more oil reserves than anyone else in the world, including Saudi Arabia, Russia, and Venezuela.

That conclusion comes from a new independent estimate from Rystad Energy, a Norwegian consultancy. Rystad estimates that the U.S. holds 264 billion barrels of oil, more than half of which is located in shale. That total exceeds the 256 billion barrels found in Russia, and the 212 billion barrels located in Saudi Arabia"

Oil will never be replaced possibly for energy when and if fusion comes on line ,I hold little hope for green energy in massive amount. We are not even addressing massive coal reserves in the US.

Cold fusion has never been successfully proven. The energy of the sun (fusion) once perfected will be the savior but that is years in the making --controlling such a reaction presents massive problems the following has promise

    Tokamak
A tokamak is a device which uses a powerful magnetic field to confine plasma in the shape of a torus. The tokamak is one of several types of magnetic confinement devices being developed to produce controlled thermonuclear fusion power. As of 2020, it is the leading candidate for a practical fusion reactor.

Peak Oil Theory has been around since before the crisis in the 70s. Bidumb is trying to force "green" on us, so yes, exploration is being blocked or conditioned on restrictions that probably can't be met with the technologies we have available.

Yes I agree peak oil has been around since the 70's and their peak estimates back then were way off due to the limited technology

Impossible! The US peaked like 50 years ago!! As we all know it is IMPOSSIBLE for old peaks to become..older peaks...I think. The US as the world's largest oil and gas producer? Who dared to even think such a thing a decade ago! Everyone was busy soiling themselves! More courage, like amateur REMFs know anything about the geosciences.
