    Tools are good.
    I repaired my damage barrel by lopping it off and really crowning it with general metal working and hand tools.
    Saved my self weeks of waiting and probably a few hundred dollars.

    Actually you can order a barrel with just about any twist you desire. I have a couple here with a 1 in 14".

    If you can find them there are volumes of antique How to books that have some very practical valuable instructions for making and repairing things and your only challenge is finding materials .

    Most resale businesses like St. Vincent DePaul, and Goodwill have a book section and I have found some gems at both stores. Small town book stores will sometimes deal in used books, our local humane society runs a thrift store that had a selection of used books. I have also come across some great finds at garage and estate sales.
