If I ever run across a use one of the 3 won't handle...

 

I have one just like. Though the crown sack is full of marbles.

 

Don't use marbles. Broken glass is hard to eat.

 

The kids like theirs also!

 

Sound advice. Mostly for plinking...although I've never had one break, or actually penterate small game. All were blunt force trauma.

 

You can't pick up marbles with a magnet, either.

 

Or harvest your own from worn out bearings.

 

I have an old coffee can full of those too. We go through a lot of bearings at work.

 

I use hex nuts, as a byproduct of my work. They cost me nothing, are plenty lethal, and can be picked up or found with a magnet. They fit my needs.

 

I've got more hardware than I know what to do with...always handy and useful in a pinch.

 

Observation: being aware of others and your surroundings.

About two weeks ago at the store I saw people going about their business. I also noticed a man, reaching for an item. Clean cut, casual, nothing to draw attention. Except for being guarded, right side, arm slightly bent and close to his side. He was carrying. Likely legally...who knows.

I've had another experience that I'll share, but I'd like to hear some others' thoughts or stories.

 

Like air guns, slingshots are very underrated weapons. Consider that 100% of the penetrative force of an arrow comes directly from the muscles of the archer. Arrows are deadly, yes? All the force of a slingshot round (or slingbow arrow) also comes from the muscles of the user, and they are not the slightest bit less deadly.

And it's not just slingshot cannons. He does machine gun slingshots and MUCH more.

 

i've seen several of his slingshots over the last few years, but that is a new one on me i like it!

 

Sorry, I wasn't saying they weren't deadly...quite the opposite. At 6' 4" and 245lbs, I can draw a slingshot adequately. I've just never had a marble break upon impact with a small animal. They are highly effective and highly under-rated.

To credit @kellory, I never considered broken glass...thank you. I've just never experienced it. This is why I'm glad I have a place now to discuss this and provoke thought on the subject.

one other thing to consider. some marbles are worth money. sort your ammo and make SURE you are not throwing away money.

 

Unfortunately, these are all of the dollar store variety.

 

6'4", 245lbs, "GIVE ME MARBLES!"...... (I'll bet you scare young store clerks)
