And unlimited funding in out of the way places along with a very few sets of lips to leak. The truth may be stranger than fiction.

For me the answer is family (duh) and close friends that I can trust (which I have VERY few of). Other than that...do you have a weak mind an a strong back? I might have some work for you and you could "earn" your keep. Of you try to take my stuff I will take extreme measures to stop you...

I guess the answer is that close family comes first and friends with skills come second.

This first came up for us back before Y2K.
    (remember that???)

When I started hearing the sheeple say "If anythig happens we'll just come over to YOUR house", I came up with a "TICKET".

    What the TICKET is.....

The TICKET is a list of prep items that "I" deem necessary for the survival of ONE person when added to what I already have.

I printed a few up and carried them with me.
When they said the above or similar, I gave them a copy and told them CLEARLY that hose items... ALL OF THEM... would be their TICKET to enter my home.

And I made it clear that they wouldn't get SQUAT, and weren't going to stay, if they didn't have ALL the items with them on arrival.

Sounds harsh, but it has to be done.

I'm not the socialist government and I can't replace the entitlement welfare system.

Nor am I willing to try.

Hard desicions will have to be made quickly. Starving families will turn you in if they are compensated by the govt to do so. You have every legitimate reason to protect your home, if it looks like you are there. Make it look like you have already left. My safe room has a ladder so we can get into the attic in case they want to check the house. I have mentioned this to freinds on what to stock up on. They just laughed. I told them if they don't have something to barter they will be on their own. They said " well your no friend" and I said back "you aren't either if you don't stock up and come to my door in need". Some people just don't get it, so let the dead bury the dead, and save you and your loved ones. Now If I can just keep the cat from meowing and giving us away. She is more spoiled than some kids I know.

When I've been asked why I forward emails about the economic situation, explain what a B.O.B is and tell people to stock up on water and canned goods. I explain that I am just being selfish; when tshtf and I have to turn these same people away from my door because they came with only the cloths on their backs I can do this with a clear concience.

What ever happened to the idea of not putting all of one's eggs in one basket? While I have enough to keep me and mine in good sorts for several months, I'm also working on some off site caches. For me, it's not worth risking everything for everything when I could simply turn over what I have in the home and resupply a few days later. It also takes into consideration the danger of a fire or other catastrophic event getting everything I need to live.

As for charity, I'm a kind soul, but agree, the right way to take care of your neighbors is anonymously rather than by invitation. The lower the profile, the better the odds.

I never admit anything to anyone. DTA is my philosophy which means "Don't Trust Anyone" It has kept me out of the lime light and off radar numerous times. Though my mate and I are kind hearted people, we'd rather help out children than a strange adult....close friends (which I have few of by choice) and family are always taken care of first though.
