We could 'armchair quarterback' this ND all day, but the upshot is, it makes those in other nations think ALL Americans are this daft.
Ex brother-in-law shot his big toe off trying to "quick-draw" ! Some people should NOT be allowed to handle sharp objects and be constrained to such items as mashed potatoes, whipped cream, etc.... Remember, it's funny as all get out until someone gets hurt...then it's downright hilarious! ( not really, I feel for this person...I hope it is a lesson well learned NOT to be repeated in the future!)
Ouch....that's gotta hurt! (wince) I'm not saying nuthin..... (Poor grammar I know...but it kinda matches the dumb SOB's vernacular) Caveat: I know that the vast majority of Americans are not as dumb as the bloke in the video clip....just that there are more of the likes of the guy in the video clip with guns than one might credit, nor that one would want to be close to when they are in fact armed! : O
Drill or Fill...Two Gun Pete's quick on the draw !! Then there's the amputee fella at the local pistol club they call "Wood Worm" he has a prosthetic leg for walking with.....and a spare leg for shooting with....the boys in the club chipped in and presented him with a jumbo sized tube of "Gap Filler", and a caulking gun...with a holster to suit. His other nickname is "Two Gun Pete". ; )
The more you drive, the more time you spend on the road, the more opportunity for an accident. Same thing with firearms. I think his explanation was thorough and helped to educate other folks who might be training or practicing with firearms.
I like the fact he took ownership. There is a reason you should only have one holster system, When i practice i practice with one pistol per day that way you know what your using and exactly how it's going to work when drawn. I too laughed when he said "f i shot myself" if he would have gut shot himself and died on camera no one would have laughed :-( Jason
I second the holster retention point. Only use one type and you don't have a learning curve every time you strap on a holster. I posted a similarly related thread here: http://www.survivalmonkey.com/forum/firearms/29343-couple-problems-serpa-holsters.html There was another one not long ago too. This guy is certainly (in)famous now I think he learned some valuable lessons. We did too by watching it.
I agree - the 'perp' was far to close to draw on. A knife, properly used, would be deadlier. And less chance of self-inflicted wound.....
He could have kissed the perp! Goodness....the boofhead was close enough to give the perp a Glasgow Kiss! Urban Dictionary: Glasgow kiss
